In a valedictory address at the University of Jammu’s Viksit Bharat-Yuva Connect Programme, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged young people to leverage their knowledge for social transformation and economic growth, aligning with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.
Empowering Youth for a Developed India
Lieutenant Governor Sinha highlighted that the 21st century belongs to India, emphasizing the crucial role of the younger generation in the nation’s journey to global leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He underscored the program’s objective: to empower youth as informed and action-oriented citizens who will drive growth and development in Jammu & Kashmir. He stressed that the innovative ideas, dreams, aspirations, and desire for change among young people are vital for societal transformation.
Harnessing Youth Potential
Sinha called upon the youth to understand societal needs, dedicate themselves to fulfilling them, and be prepared to make sacrifices for the goal of Viksit Bharat (Developed India). He described the human mind as the “greatest miracle and the most powerful force,” encouraging young people to utilize this strength. He also challenged them to “chart the path of the future,” combining modern inventions with a continuous pursuit of new dimensions of consciousness.
Role of Educational Institutions
The Lieutenant Governor commended the University of Jammu for its “revolutionary initiatives” in helping students realize their potential. He also urged educational institutions to adopt a global approach to education to keep pace with change, reiterating the immediate goal of making India the world’s third-largest economy.
The event concluded with Sinha felicitating winners of pre-activities under the program and the administration of the Viksit Bharat Shapath. Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, provided an overview of the pre-activities organized by the university. Senior officials, faculty, staff, and students attended the ceremony.
