Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Northern Army Commander, visited forward areas in Poonch district on Friday and exhorted the troops to maintain the highest state of readiness.
The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GoC-in-C) Northern Command visited the Surankote sector and was briefed on the operational preparedness, security situation, and augmentation of operational capability. He was also briefed on the recent terrorist activities in the area.
Lt Gen Dwivedi expressed satisfaction with the operational preparedness of the troops and their high morale. He also commended them for their dedication and commitment to duty.
He assured the troops that the Army is committed to providing them with all the necessary support to ensure their safety and security.
The visit of the Northern Army Commander is a morale booster for the troops and it sends a strong message to the enemy that the Indian Army is fully prepared to meet any challenge.
