The Indian Army and Handwara Police on Monday recovered two IEDs from Wodhpura Ridge near NH 701 in Handwara.
The IEDs, weighing approximately 5 and 7 kg, were concealed in the jungle area and were detected by the Indian Army’s highly trained Explosive detection team.
The Bomb Disposal team safely detonated the IEDs and a thorough search operation is underway in the area to look for any more IEDs or hiding militants.
No loss of life or property was reported.
The prompt action by the joint team of security forces averted a major incident in the area.
