The Jammu and Kashmir government has sacked three government officials for allegedly providing support to Pakistan-backed terror outfits.
The officials, identified as Faheem Aslam, Arshid Ahmad Thoker, and Murawath Hussain Mir, were working in the University of Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the revenue department, respectively.
An investigation by the government found that the officials were allegedly providing logistics to terrorists, raising terror finances, and furthering the secessionist agenda.
The government has invoked Article 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution of India to sack the officials. This article allows the government to dismiss an employee if they are found to be “guilty of misconduct and actuated by a corrupt or dishonest motive.”
The dismissal of the three officials follows J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s policy of “zero tolerance against terrorism.” With the latest order, 52 government officials have so far been sacked for alleged links with terror outfits.
The sacking of the three officials is a major blow to the terror outfits operating in Jammu and Kashmir. It sends a strong message that the government will not tolerate any support for terrorism, even from within its own ranks.
