Life in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, has reportedly returned to normal following an understanding between India and Pakistan to cease hostilities, with morning visuals showing students attending school.
However, in a border village of the Samba district, local residents expressed fear of the Pakistan army after blasts were heard on Monday night, and splinters struck a house. The shelling from Pakistan allegedly damaged the roof and kitchen of the affected residence.
Dalbeer Singh, a local resident, stated that constant fear prevails due to the shelling. “We were clueless last night, but we heard noises. We saw in the morning that this had happened. However, there is not much damage. We were all at home when the explosion happened. The police came later and took stock of the situation. There is an environment of fear.”

Prakar Singh, a resident of a different border village, recounted the drone activity, saying, “When the drone firing happened, I was trying to calm my kids. Pakistan is not ready to agree.”
On Monday evening, red streaks and explosions were reported as India’s air defense intercepted Pakistani drones amidst a blackout in Samba. Army sources indicated that a small number of drones had entered the Samba sector and were being engaged, emphasizing that there was no cause for alarm. According to these sources, “Comparatively, a very small number of drones have come in the Samba sector, and they are being engaged, and there is nothing to be alarmed about.”
