An advisory was issued by the Srinagar district administration on Monday due to a forecast of heavy rain, thundershowers, cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides in parts of Kashmir between August 18 and 19.
Residents in Fakir Gujri and its surrounding areas, as well as Khonmouh, should avoid slopes, water bodies, and low-lying areas until the weather improves.
Tourists, local shikara operators, and sand miners working in the Jhelum River and other water bodies have also been cautioned not to cross them without first assessing the conditions.
