Kishtwar Cloudburst: Death Toll Climbs To 64 After Woman’s Body Recovered

On Tuesday, the body of a woman was recovered, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to 64. Officials believe that a lower body part found under the debris is from a victim whose body was already recovered. The number of missing persons has been revised to 39, while 167 people have been rescued. Among the dead are three CISF personnel and one Special Police Officer from the J-K Police.

Rescue teams, including the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers, are using heavy machinery, earth movers, and sniffer dogs to search for the missing. Over the past three days, rescuers have conducted controlled explosions to remove large boulders that were obstructing the search.
