The annual Amarnath Yatra, a major religious pilgrimage in Jammu and Kashmir, will begin on July 3, 2025, and conclude on August 19, announced Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri. He assured reporters that comprehensive arrangements, including security, logistics, and infrastructure, are underway to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage.
The administration is prioritizing the pilgrimage, which attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees to the Amarnath Cave in the Himalayas, with close coordination between security forces and civil departments.
Bidhuri also discussed ongoing regional development projects, noting the completion of two out of three major bridges, with work continuing on the Sanat Nagar Bridge. He emphasized that the Roads and Buildings Department and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) are closely monitoring engineering standards.
He detailed special security arrangements for the upcoming Baisakhi celebrations at key religious sites like Tral, Charar-e-Sharif, and Baramulla.
Regarding the government’s directive to install CCTV cameras in school buses, the Divisional Commissioner stated that a deadline has been set for installation, emphasizing that the measure is for the security and safety of students.
