Srinagar: Amid strong gusty winds on Friday afternoon, a boat capsized in Dal Lake near Duck Park, resulting in the drowning of at least two individuals. While one person has been rescued, search operations are currently underway for the other missing individual.
According to sources, the two individuals were fishing when their boat was struck by the sudden strong winds, causing them to jump into the lake.
Officials from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Srinagar confirmed that two people were aboard the boat. One has been successfully rescued, identified as Abdul Majeed Khosa, son of Mohammad Sultan Khosa, a resident of Rainawari, Srinagar.
The SDRF has alerted its headquarters, and dive teams along with additional boats have been dispatched to assist in the ongoing search for the missing individual.
