Kathua Police have intensified their efforts against crime, with SSP Kathua Shobhit Saksena IPS leading the charge. In a recent action, they invoked the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA) against a repeat offender, who has since been transferred to District Jail Udhampur.
On May 24, 2025, a team from PP Marheen, headed by IC PP Marheen PSI Swaran Singh Manhas, and operating under the guidance of SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Katoch and SHO PS Rajbagh Insp Ajay Singh Chib, successfully apprehended the individual. The accused, Suraj Masih, son of Roshan Lal, a resident of Haria Chak Marheen, Tehsil Marheen, District Kathua, was detained following a formal order from the District Magistrate Kathua.
Suraj Masih faces multiple charges within Kathua District, and his continued criminal activities have been deemed a significant threat to public peace and order in the region.
