Defense Minister Rajnath Singh convened a high-level meeting with top military officials, including Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan and the heads of the Army, Air Force, and Navy, to assess the national security situation following Pakistan’s recent attempts to attack Indian military installations.
The meeting addressed all facets of the evolving security landscape. This review came after India successfully repelled Pakistani drone and missile attacks targeting strategic locations in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and other areas.
The Indian military confirmed the neutralization of these threats, stating, “India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people.” Officials reported that Pakistani drones and missiles were effectively countered, thwarting the enemy’s objectives.
These incidents followed a similar attempt by Pakistan less than 24 hours prior. On Thursday, the Defense Ministry reported that Indian forces had intercepted Pakistani attacks aimed at military installations in 15 cities across northern and western India, including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, and others.
