Gurmeet Singh, an engineer with the Roads and Buildings Department, was found dead in a barrage in Gantamulla area of Baramulla district on Tuesday morning.
Singh had been missing for six days, and his body was recovered by a team of police and other agencies. The cause of death is not yet known, but further investigation is underway.
Singh was a section engineer with the Roads and Buildings Department. He was responsible for leading a team of site engineers on civil engineering and infrastructure projects. He was a respected engineer and his death is a great loss to the department.
The police are investigating the matter and have not ruled out any possibility. They are also questioning Singh’s family and friends to get more information about his disappearance.
The body has been taken to a hospital for post-mortem examination. The police will release the cause of death after the post-mortem report is received.
