Ganderbal Police Seize Psychotropic Drugs During Raid

Continuing their efforts against drug trafficking, Ganderbal Police apprehended a suspect carrying a large quantity of controlled substances.

Following the directives of SSP Ganderbal, a police team from Safapora Police Station set up a routine checkpoint near Kulpora crossing. A suspicious individual approaching from Sumbal attempted to avoid the checkpoint but was apprehended.

The suspect, identified as Feroz Ahmad Khanday of Srinagar, was found to be carrying 100 bottles of Codeine Phosphate, a restricted medication. He was arrested and taken into custody at Safapora Police Station.

A case (FIR No. 06/2024) has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is ongoing.
