Heavy overnight rains from July 17–18 caused damage to multiple structures, including residential houses and a madrasa, in the Sanghiote area of Gursai sector in Poonch district.
Officials reported that at least five structures were partially damaged by the downpour. Among the affected residential houses are those belonging to Mohd Din (s/o Abdul Karim), Mukhtiar Hussain (s/o Mohd Hussain), Mohd Azam (s/o Villagat Hussain), and Mohd Nasib Khan (s/o Fateh Mohd). Additionally, the Faizan-e-Mustafa Madrasa, operated by Hafiz Tariq Jameel (s/o Mohd Din), also sustained structural damage.
In response to the situation, local police and civilian volunteers quickly evacuated all residents and madrasa students to safer nearby homes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
