In a move aimed at maintaining peace and order, the R.S.Pura Police in Jammu district detained a notorious criminal, Ankush Kumar alias Anku, under the Public Safety Act (PSA) yesterday (March 22nd, 2024).
Ankush Kumar, son of Baru Ram from Khana Chak in R.S.Pura, has been involved in organized criminal activities despite facing multiple FIRs and arrests by the police. These activities posed a significant threat to public order, particularly in the R.S.Pura area.
Given his history and continued criminal behavior, the Jammu District Magistrate issued order No. 14/2024 on March 19th, 2024, authorizing Ankush’s detention under Section 8 of the PSA. He has been lodged in jail.
FIR No. 16/2023 under Sections 4/25 of the Arms Act at Arnia Police Station.
FIR No. 39/2023 under Sections 341 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke), and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Arnia Police Station.
FIR No. 98/2023 under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 341 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 34 (common intent) of the IPC and 4/25 of the Arms Act at Arnia Police Station.
This action highlights the Jammu Police’s commitment to taking stringent legal measures against notorious criminals while also taking preventive steps to ensure peace and order in the region.
