Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his deepest grief over the loss of lives in the house collapse and landslides triggered by heavy rains in Bani area of Kathua district.
In his condolence message, the Lt Governor said that he was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic incident, in which a number of persons had lost their lives and many others were feared trapped under the debris. He said that rescue and relief operations were currently underway and he had directed the district administration to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families and medical assistance to the injured.
The Lt Governor also appealed to the people to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions in view of the heavy rains. He said that the administration was closely monitoring the situation and would provide all necessary assistance to those affected by the rains.
