The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was partially restored for traffic on Wednesday afternoon after being closed due to mud and landslides following heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir.
Traffic officials said that vehicles stranded on the road are being cleared. They advised people not to travel on the highway without confirmation from traffic control units.
The highway was closed on Tuesday morning after landslides and shooting stones blocked the road at several places in Ramban district.
The restoration work was carried out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the traffic police.
The highway is an important link between Jammu and Kashmir and is used by thousands of people every day.
