A joint operation by the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police has recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in the Machhal sector of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir. The operation was launched on August 15, 2023 based on intelligence inputs about the presence of a cache of weapons in the area.

The cache included five AK-47 rifles, seven pistols, four hand grenades and other incriminating material. The search operation is still ongoing.

The recovery of this cache of arms is a major success for the security forces and a setback to the militants operating in the region. It is also a reminder of the need for continued vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC).

The security forces have been conducting regular operations to prevent the infiltration of militants and the smuggling of arms and ammunition into the valley. This latest operation is a testament to their determination to keep the region safe.

The recovery of this cache of arms is a significant blow to the militants and will make it more difficult for them to carry out attacks. It is also a morale booster for the security forces and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
