Two forest department employees were shot by unknown gunmen in the Sonabanjar forest area near Bagandar Bridge in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night.
The employees, Jahangir Ahmad Chechi and Imran Yousuf, were patrolling the area when they noticed suspicious activity. As they went to investigate, they were fired upon by the unknown gunmen.
Chechi was injured in the leg, while Yousuf was shot in the chest. They were both taken to a local hospital, where Yousuf was later shifted to the SMHS Hospital in Pulwama in critical condition.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and no arrests have been made yet.
