An elderly man was found dead in a paddy field in Kangloora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on September 1, police said.
A police spokesman said that a police team rushed to the spot after receiving information about the body. The body was identified as that of Karan Singh, a 75-year-old resident of Kangloora.
The initial examination did not reveal any external injuries on the body. However, a detailed forensic inspection and crime scene photography were conducted. A postmortem is being conducted by a board of doctors.
Legal proceedings have been initiated and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
The police spokesman appealed to anyone with information about the incident to come forward and help the police in their investigation.
