Will Follow PM’s Mantra For Development And Progress Of Ladakh: LG Kavinder Gupta

During Ladakh’s 79th Independence Day celebration, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta unfurled the national flag and honored the armed forces. He stressed his dedication to the comprehensive growth of Ladakh, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”

A New Direction for Ladakh’s Development

Gupta highlighted his commitment to uniting every community in Ladakh to work toward a shared future of prosperity and development. He urged citizens to embrace their constitutional duties and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of collective effort.

Since taking office on July 18, 2025, Gupta has engaged with representatives and traveled across the Union Territory, including Kargil, to listen to the concerns and aspirations of its people. He stated his intention to work collaboratively with citizens to fulfill their wishes.

Honoring Sacrifices and Celebrating Milestones

At the Polo Ground in Leh, Gupta paid tribute to the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the nation’s sovereignty, specifically commending the bravery of the Ladakh Scouts.

He also acknowledged the significance of the Dalai Lama’s visit to the region and the recent celebration of his 90th birthday. Additionally, he congratulated the people of Ladakh on the formation of new districts and the official recognition of their local languages.

Focus on Youth Employment

A key priority for the administration will be creating employment opportunities for Ladakh’s youth. Gupta noted that the Government of India has started providing its own services and domicile-based opportunities to the region. He pointed out the implementation of a new reservation policy, which reserves 95% of jobs for local youths, calling it a “historic milestone.”

Gupta concluded by expressing his confidence that through determination and unity, Ladakh will achieve new levels of development, peace, and prosperity.
