JAMMU, Aug 11: In a spirited celebration of patriotism ahead of Independence Day, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jammu East Constituency, Yudhvir Sethi, on Monday distributed National Flags under the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.
The programme, held in the constituency, witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, shopkeepers, and BJP karyakartas. People pledged to hoist the National Flag atop their homes and establishments on August 15, marking the nation’s 78th Independence Day.
Yudhvir Sethi personally interacted with residents while handing over the Tricolour, urging them to join the campaign wholeheartedly. He said the initiative is aimed at rekindling the spirit of nationalism and reminding citizens of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
Addressing the gathering, Sethi said, “The Tiranga is not just our national flag—it is the heartbeat of India, the embodiment of our unity, and the symbol of our hard-earned freedom. Each colour tells a story, each thread carries the dreams and sacrifices of our heroes. This Independence Day, let us not merely celebrate a date on the calendar; let us reaffirm our pledge to protect the dignity of our flag and the values it represents. I appeal to every household in Jammu East to proudly hoist the Tiranga on August 15 so that our skies are filled with the colours of patriotism.”
He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for Har Ghar Tiranga, saying it has transformed the celebration of Independence Day into a mass movement.
Sethi assured that the BJP will continue to promote initiatives that unite people under the spirit of nation-building, adding that such campaigns strengthen community bonds and inspire the younger generation to take pride in their heritage.
