“Despite his past advocacy for dialogue with Pakistan, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah asserted on Monday that India will deliver a decisive response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in 26 fatalities. He emphasized that Pakistan must abandon its ‘misleading notion’ that terrorism will lead to Jammu and Kashmir’s accession.
‘While I have consistently supported dialogue, what justification can we offer the victims’ families? Where is the justice?’ Abdullah told reporters outside the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly complex. He made these remarks in response to inquiries regarding calls for dialogue over military action. He visited the assembly during a special session where a resolution condemning the April 22nd terror attack at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam was passed.
Abdullah suggested that India’s response should be more impactful than the 2019 Balakot surgical strike, aiming to prevent future terror attacks on Jammu and Kashmir’s soil.
‘We are profoundly grieved by the loss of these lives. It is deplorable that our neighbor persists in acts of inhumanity. They must relinquish the delusion that we will join them,’ he stated.”
