“PM Modi won’t remain silent”: Sunil Sharma in J&K Assembly on Pahalgam attack

During a Legislative Assembly session, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma addressed the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam, expressing deep sorrow for the victims. He emphasized the national shock and the unified response of the people of Jammu and Kashmir against terrorism.

Sharma stated that the central government, under Prime Minister Modi, would respond decisively to the attack. He urged patience, stating that the government has already taken initial steps and a more comprehensive response is forthcoming.

He accused Pakistan of attempting to maintain its influence in Kashmir through “miscreants,” after failing in conventional wars since 1947. However, he praised the strong and united reaction of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that their solidarity sent a clear message against division.

Sharma highlighted the heightened scrutiny of the Assembly session, noting that the entire nation was watching. He stressed the responsibility of legislators to maintain this unity and protect it from any divisive forces. He also proposed that legislators donate their salaries to support the victims of the attack.
